U16s v Cork City FC:
Last Sunday, for the first time, Estuary Park was a riot of Pink !
Maurice Farrell brought his squad of ladies for a friendly against our U16s.   The game was for the standard ninety minutes.   It began at a very fast pace with no give on either side.   The pressure was on straight away and continued right through the whole game.   Both sides had goal chances but none of them found the net.   Nearing half time the first of the subs came on, and Éimhín took his chance and claimed the first score.   The boys were more settled in the second half but were under pressure all the way.   After some great passes and a lot of team work, Terence added three more goals.    The boys held off the girls until the last fifteen minutes or so before the girls got a few lucky breaks and scored three goals.   It was a most enjoyable game, great competition and a great experience.

YOUTH  CHOIR:
Urgent Appeal for members:   A second meeting of the choir was held last Friday, only eleven children attended.   Unfortunately this number is not adequate for the practical purpose of running a choir.   More members, up to 20, are urgently needed if the choir is to remain.
They need a mix of  the stronger older voices along with the younger singers.    It would be such a pity to lose our youth group - to hear them sing in Church, they really lift the spirit.    Noelle and Susie give up their time to train the members how the sing properly and how to harmonise, all for free.!!   They entered the community games competition, two years in a row and came 2nd and 3rd in the All-Ireland.       To be able to sing is a fantastic gift and it may be later in life that the children will really appreciate what they learn now.                         Parents, it is up to you to encourage your children to get involved - if they do not get used to joining community activities now, they will not do so in later life.   All these hobbies can be included on C.Vs. and is definitely a plus in their favour.
Employers like to see well rounded individuals with a variety of interests.                                                                                                  Do you know that  Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Elvis all started out by singing in their local choirs.!!
Girls/ Boys, from 3rd class up to teenagers, all are welcome       Please contact Susie on 087- 9873379 for further information.
Parents Remember:   Friday 28th September, Granagh Community Centre, 6.00pm to 7.00pm.
