GRANAGH NOTES - 3/4th Oct.


GRANAGH UTD. F.C:
The Jackpot was not won either last week, it will be € 12,850 next week-end.                                                                           Unfortunately due to a mix-up in the Rota, the draw did not take place at the weekend, so it is being done in the Clubhouse after training on Tuesday 2nd.    New Rota now set up, starting with Tom, Richard and Jimmy's  team on Friday 5th.    12th Oct. - Joe, Mary & Jim.         19th Oct. -  Seamus, Tom & Joe.   26th Oct. -  Anne & John.   2nd Nov - Mark & Pat.  Rota sheets will be in the bag for everyone.
We are still looking for more people to join the Lotto teams.

KNOCKFIERNA CHALLENGE:
It's On this Saturday 6th Oct - 8.30am in Ballingarry, sponsored cycle in aid of The Irish Heart Foundation and  GAA Club funds.
Food and Music afterwards in Dinny A's Bar.

REMEMBERING OUR DEPARTED:
On the Bereavement Board in the Church, our dearly departed family and friends are remembered every month.  It is only when one sees the names in print, you realise all the members of the community who have passed away and it gives us a reminder to include them in our prayers.  If you would like to have a loved one remembered, drop their mortuary card into the box provided.   The October list includes: -

COMMUNITY  GAMES:
Granagh/ Ballingarry Community Games will hold their AGM on Thursday 11th Oct in the supper room in Ballingarry.   All parents of children who take part during the year are earnestly asked to attend to show support for our hard working committee.
DRAMA  AUDITIONS:
Talk about X Factor Boot camp ??   Jimmy Sheehy has made his final decision !!   He will  be revealing his choice at a reading in the community centre on Tuesday  9th Oct at 8.15pm.   All those interested in the forthcoming play are welcome to attend. 
 
 
A.G.M. :
Development Association AGM - Wednesday 10th October, 8.00pm.   All welcome to attend.  More members needed to get involved.    We have just a small committee and as people retire we will need replacements.   New people bring new ideas.  The aim of the association is to encourage, promote, co-ordinate, participate and assist in the environmental and cultural development of Granagh and its environs.  This may involve running courses, information nights, cultural activities as well as making sure the hall  is well kept and suitable  for clubs to hold meetings or events.                     
 
AFTERNOON TEA  DANCING:
Tea Dancing Returns: -  Sunday 21st October.  Music by Eddie Keogh.  2pm to 5pm.   Adm €5 pp.   If you like listening to music, come along.   Meet the neighbours, have a chat and make new friends.   We have a group of lovely, friendly people attending the dances and it is a great way to pass a Winter evening.   The Hall is comfortable and warm with a beautiful high tea to finish off the day.
