The second-hand clothes trade supports hundreds of thousands of livelihoods in developing countries by means of trading, distributing, repairing, and restyling the clothes.   For example, in Senegal alone there are over 24,000 people working in the second-hand clothes trade. (Source: Oxfam).   Anything that is not suitable for re-wear is recycled using a special process to make items such as flocking for upholstery, underlay for carpets, soundproofing for cars and industrial wipes.
If you cannot make it to the Club House, please contact Kevin Clifford who will arrange to collect items.   Your support is very much appreciated.

U12 Girls:
Granagh 3 - Ballingarry 1.
The first all girls soccer match took place on Saturday , a friendly versus Ballingarry.  Scorers, Ellen Murphy 1, Ciara English 1, Beth Stapleton1.   Players of the Match - Leanne Herlihy and Kathleen Dore.
The Girls started well, Kathleen, Ciara and Leanne held strong in front of Theresa and made some great clearances early on.   We had a very industrious mid-field with Eimear, Ciara and Beth holding out, while settling into their positions.  It started with Norina up front, a nice passage of play to set up Ellen for the first goal.   However they were under pressure for the rest of the half and lucky to hold out until half time.   At the break Ashling was introduced and almost from the kick off, Ballingarry scored a deserved goal.   Granagh settled in to the second half with nice passes between Ciara, Ellen and Leanne up the wing.   Norina had a shot on goal but it was well blocked.   Ciara English came into form and sent long balls into the forward line.    Eimear and Beth made a few great runs and applied a lot of pressure.   Eventually an opening appeared and Ciara put the ball in the back of the net.   A couple of late saves from Teresa kept us in the game.  With three minutes to go Beth broke clear and sent another one home.   Well done to all.
Squad: - Teresa Dore, Ciara Sheehy, Kathleen Dore, Leanne Herlihy, Eimear Gavin, Beth Stapleton, Ciara English, Ellen Murphy,

Fixtures:Saturday Dec 3rd, 12.00pm -  our U16 team play Fairview Rangers in the fourth round of the National Cup.
This is the furthest any Granagh Utd team have ever got in the National Cup so please come along to Estuary Park to support the boys.          The teams run-up to this match was a walk over from Coonagh Utd in the first round, then a home tie with Kerry outfit Mastergeeha in the second round,  which the boys put three goals past with no reply from the visitors.  Then they made the long journey back to Fenit again , against another Kerry outfit in which they were defeated 2-1.
The boys have worked very hard in this Cup competition under the management of Jimmy Sheehy and Timmy Cotter so please come along and get behind the team as home support is very important in these games.
