COMMUNITY GAMES:
AGM:     The new year for Granagh/Ballingarry community games got off to a great start with a well attended and lively                                                          annual general meeting on Wednesday night last. All officership positions were filled and tribute was paid to the outgoing committee                                             for overseeing such a successful year for the club.                                                                                                                                                                      The officers elected for the coming year are, President – Fr. Dan Lane, Chairperson – Claire Anderson, Vice-chair – Mike Sheahan,                                          Secretary – Anne Higgins, Asst. Sec – Marie Bennett, Treasurer. – Rob Thomstone, Asst. Tres. – Margaret Casey, PRO– Eddie Houlihan .
The appointment of managers was then discussed and we were fortunate that many positions were filled on the night but it was stressed                                      that parents of participating must take an active role in helping out.
REGISTRATION:
It was agreed that parents would be invited to register their children with the club after the Halloween break.   This will be done similar to                                   previous years and it will also give parents an opportunity to volunteer their time and talents to help out during the year.
DRAUGHTS:
This weeks practice for draughts will be held in the supper room Ballingarry from 7pm to 8.30pm.   In a change to the last few weeks all age                         groups are invited to come for the full session and so the older children will be welcome to begin practice at 7pm.    In particular managers Mike                         and Breda would like to see anyone who have not have been able to attend up to now make a special effort to come on Thursday.                                   Remember beginners are most welcome (over 7 years of age) and old faces are sure to feel right at home.   It will soon be time to select the teams                       for this year so come along on Thursday and stake your claim.
