his wife Bernie, son Pat, daughter Mary and brother Mick. Solas na bhFlaitheas ar a anam dhílís.

GRANAGH Utd F.C

Due to the icy weather over Christmas, all fixtures were cancelled however, the Sean Fitzgibbon Cup did go ahead, as usual, with Ballyagran versus Granagh.
Despite Granagh taking the lead in the first half with a Stephen O'Brien score, Ballyagran replied with three goals, from Alan Roche, Maurice Farrell and Paul Hourigan. Final score Granagh Utd 1 - Ballyagran 3. The perpetual trophy was donated by Sean's family and the match was first held on St. Stephen's day two years ago.
It is a tribute to the memory of Sean and all the work he put in to the club to get it off the ground. As a result, we have a strong and vibrant club today.

GRANAGH PLAYERS:

Christmas break over and we are back on track again. Our first night is always a bit slow as the Christmas cobwebs have to be brushed away.
Poor Tadhg (James O'Gorman ), was shattered after an exhausting week of partying !!!! A big shock to the system to be back on the Marietta biscuits
again... His daddy, on stage, would not be impressed at all... Bull McCabe (Jimmy Chawke ) is a tenant farmer with a deep love of the land and particularly
this field which he has tended and improved beyond recognition over the last five years. His only concern is to own this field so that he can pass it on to
Tadhg for future generations. " Land is all that matters, own your own land " - is his constant catchphrase.
To get his own way, he involves the locals in his plot but things get a bit out of hand. His constant companion and informant is the Bird O'Donnell ( Seamus
Murphy). Bird is a cattle jobber but he is always hovering in the background, watching, listening and scrounging drinks. ! Most of the action takes place in
Flanagan's Pub run by Mick and Maimie Flanagan ( Joe Noonan & Patsy Power ). Now, when this couple get together, sparks fly and everyone ducks for cover.!!
Mick is a busy man, publican, local auctioneer and father to nine children... Maimie didn't realise what she was letting herself in for all those years ago and now
she is usually frustrated and in the sulks !! The only thing to brighten her day would be if a stranger called to the pub.?
As it happens, an Englishman ( John Bennett ) calls one day with a view to setting up a business in the village. Maimie can be very attentive and can turn on her
charms - when she wants !! Next week, a further installment.
Reminder of Dates :- 22nd,23rd,24th, 29th, 30th and 31st January.
