GRANAGH NOTES

COMHBHRÓN:

Sincere sympathy is extended to Bridget O'Brien and family on the death of her brother Jimmy in Ruane, Co. Clare.

TEA DANCING:

The snow and ice appeared Sunday morning and the roads were treacherous. We were tempted to cancel the dance but eventually
decided to go ahead no matter how many arrived. As it turned out we had up to sixty people and everyone had a very enjoyable evening.
Many thanks to the ladies who provided the cakes and to all those who donated raffle prizes. We had twenty in total, with Kitty Fitzgerald
going straight for the cuddly Teddy Bear, Bernie Dunne took a fancy to Piglet and Maureen Lynch had another lucky run this time.
We had two people celebrating birthdays and Marian presented a little token to the ever youthful Nora O'Keeffe and Frank Dunne who will
be eighty five in January.
The Committee would like to wish all our dancing friends a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas and hope to see you all in the New Year.
We will not have a dance in January as we will be up to our eyes with the Drama, so we will resume again in Feb.

CAROL SERVICE:

Congratulations to the children and teachers on the beautiful nativity story they presented in the Church last Thursday, in front of a very big crowd.
Each and every one did their part beautifully - Angels, Shepherds, Drummers, Wise Men, Readers, Dancers and Singers.

CHRISTMAS MASSES:

Vigil Masses - Thursday 24th, Granagh 7.30pm and Ballingarry 9.00pm. Christmas Morning - Granagh 10.00am and Ballingarry 11.30pm.
Choir will be singing on 24th, 25th and 26th.

YOUTH CHOIR:

Well done to all the choir members and leaders on their beautiful performance at Mass, Saturday night. They looked fantastic in their new
uniform, very professional. They sang again on Sunday in Ballingarry and immediately afterwards they left for Abbot Close Nursing Home
in Askeaton. There they sang and entertained the patients , who were most appreciative. The staff had laid out a table of goodies for the
children which in turn was much appreciated !! It was a lovely gesture to share their talents and thanks to the parents who travelled also.
