DEVELOPMENT ASSOC:
The AGM was held on Monday 28th Sept. Thank you to the dedicated committee members who turned up, as usual
and the one extra person who joined us.
The Chairman, Mike O'Regan, began by thanking his officers for their excellent work during the year. Secretary,
Marian Noonan, who has the heaviest workload, taking care of bookings, correspondence, booking bands, organising
raffles and rotas, baking and painting. The Treasurers' Mary Lynch & Anne Hickey were congratulated on the way
they looked after the accounts and provided a very detailed statement of income and expenses for the past year.
Ballyhoura representatives, Martin Carroll and John Bennett have been attending all meetings and reporting on same.
Mike had a long list of people to thank for their contributions, support, and help given, all on a voluntary basis:-
the producer, cast and all the helpers in ' Poor Beast in the Rain ', Nora O'Keeffe, the Card committee, those who are
involved in the Tea Dancing and those who provide all that fantastic home baking.
Over the Summer a number of improvements were made to the hall. The boundary wall was recapped , with thanks to Martin
Carroll for donating the wall capping. A new wheelchair accessible toilet was built, a new secure area for the money collectors, a
new floor at the front door, new ceilings in main hall, the floors of the main hall and spare room were sanded and varnished
and it was all repainted, inside and outside.
We decided to ask some of the local youths to help with the painting as summer jobs were very scarce
this year and many thanks to them :- Paul Power, Sharon Chawke, Jackie Chawke, Richard Noonan, James Noonan, Orla Noonan
and Aoife Sheerin ( New York). The Jefferies family on holiday from England were also roped in to give a hand.
Others who helped over the Summer, Seamus Murphy, Tom Noonan, Tom & Pat O'Regan , Eamon McMahon, Anne Hickey, Marian
Noonan and Mary O'Regan.
The Chairman finished by saying that we have a great little parish, great community spirit and we are so lucky to have such generous
people willing to support and help out in any way.
Finally the election of officers took place and each of the Officers were re-elected again for another term.
TEA DANCING:
Our afternoon tea dances will begin again on Sunday 18th October, 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Music by Eddie Keogh.
