The Mighty U10s:
On Wednesday evening 27th, we all headed off to Newcastle West for the Shield Final match versus Old Mill. It was one of those fabulous evenings we had
and it was still so warm at 7pm that people were standing underneath the trees for shade. Both teams started out very determined and the first half was very
fast paced. Granagh had several chances at goal but could not put it in the net, which left the half time score 0-0.
In the second half, Granagh got the first score which was an o.g. from a Sean Walsh cross into the box. Old Mill, however, persisted and as a result got two
corners and scored from each one. With only minutes left they got in a third one. Our boys kept trying to the very end but could not come back.
Of course, it was a major disappointment on the night for the whole panel and especially those who will be moving on to the next level.
Seamus and Kevin would like to congratulate the boys on a marvelous season, and thank them for their attendance in training and their good behaviour throughout.
Don't forget our A.G.M - Thursday 25th June at 9.00pm in the Community Centre, Granagh.

BREAK - INS:
Recently, there have been two burglaries in the Coolruss area. It is a reminder to everyone that there are always people on the lookout either on foot or by vehicle. We should all be as vigilant as we can. An awful lot of traffic passes through Granagh, daily and we normally do not take much notice but of course this is advantageous when it comes to robberies. I suppose we should question more, be aware of the usual vehicles that travel our roads and note down registration numbers. A suggestion of setting up the neighbourhood watch scheme has been made. As the recession is beginning to hit harder, it may be a good idea.
