Local News W/E 31st OCT

YOUTH CLUB:

Our first club night was held last Friday and thanks to Leaders Marylee Stapleton
and Eileen Noonan for being present to look after the members.
The club members are entering a Fashion Show, which is being run by the Limerick
Youth Service in November. They are going to enter four of the design categories,
Swinging Sixties, Disco Seventies, Romantic Eighties and Naughty Noughties.
There may be some of these fashions still in wardrobes out there and we would be
delighted to recycle them for you.!

Shoe Boxes given out to members to fill with toys for needy children , don't forget to
return them the next night.
Next Club night , Friday 7th Nov, 8 pm.

West Limerick Volunteer Fair to be held on Saturday 15th Nov, in the Desmond College,
Newcastle West, 11am to 3.30pm. All welcome.

We are delighted to congratulate Pat Lynch, from the Kilmallock Club, who received the National
Youth Work Ireland Volunteer Achievement Award at a ceremony in Dublin. It was
presented by Barry Andrews, TD at a glittering ceremony hosted by RTE presenter, John
Creedon. Pat has been volunteering in the area of youth work for the past eighteen years and
it is a very fitting that he should receive this award for his commitment to the youth.

GRANAGH UNITED F.C:

Reminder ! No Halloween Night celebrations in the pitch this year due to insurance regulations.

Due to the terrible weather conditions over the weekend, only one competitive game was played. This took
place on Saturday morning, 25th, when the U14s travelled away to play Newcastle West. The very heavy rain made it
difficult for both sides however, despite the conditions, we were treated to a very exciting game of football.
Both teams played out a very even game of football with goal scoring opportunities at either end of the field and with
one goal a piece, it ended a 1 - 1 draw. A fair result on the day, Granagh's goal came from an OG.

Lotto:

There was no winner of the E 10,300 in the lotto draw on Friday 24th last. Number drawn were 10. 13. 15. 18.
Lucky Dip winners of E 20 each were Seamus Sheehan, Croom, Peter Stapleton & David Brosnan, Coolruss.

GET WELL WISHES:

Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery to Jackie Chawke, Ballyvologue, who is in hospital at present.
