PARENTS ASSOCIATION:
The Family Table Quiz took place on Sunday, and as happens there were alot of other events clashing. However,
there were eleven tables and all present had a most enjoyable afternoon. The Committee were well prepared and the
quiz was geared towards both children and adults, actually without the children we wouldn't have been able to answer some
of the questions.! There were only a few points between the first three tables and the eventual winners were the Pat
Herlihy/ John Bennett table. They very kindly gave the winnings back to the Association. There were lots of spot prizes,
the brave adult winners were:- John English, for getting into a pair of high heels, Pat Herlihy for wearing a girls' hoodie and
Sharon Condon, first up wearing a bandana. Childrens winners:- Maurice Noonan, first boy wearing lipstick. Lorraine Power,
first up with a jacket on in-side-out and Megan Clifford, first up wearing a boys shoe. There were thirteen raffle prizes with the
following winners:- Conor O'Donoghue (2), Marian Sheehy, Beth Stpaleton, M.J. Purtill, Hanora Condon, Mary O'Regan, John
Bennett, Clare O'Leary (2), Ciara Sheehy, Peter Stapleton, and Grace Purtill. Well done to all and look forward to another one
next year. M.C., Marylee Stapleton thanked everyone for attending, all who helped out and all who donated items. Thanks
also to Theresa Noonan who had a queue in front of her all day, for her wonderful face painting.
DEVELOPMENT ASSOC: A.G.M.
Unfortunately only a small number - thirteen in all - attended our AGM. Our usual dedicated committee members turned up and
the Chairman, Martin Carroll thanked them for attending.
The Secretary, Marian Noonan, gave a full run down on the last year and all the activities that were undertaken. She stressed that
these would not have been possible without the continued help and support of the committee and the wider community.
Each event held was successful in its own right with many different people contributing.... to that as well as providing entertainment
The 45 Drive continued on Monday nights, numbers are decreasing all the time but the Committee decided to keep going just
for those people. The Tea Dances ran monthly, beginning in October and finishing up in April. Marian thanked all those who
supplied home baking, spot prizes and those who did the washing, tidying up etc. The dancers who attended were very appreciative
of the attention and all the effort
A parish party ( young at heart ), was held in February where up to sixty people enjoyed a beautiful meal and an evening of
dancing. The most successful event held, turned out to be ' Sive ' and surpassed all our expectations. Again, its success
was due to the commitment, support and help of a huge number of people. Again Marian thanked all those involved and their
help was much appreciated. Two different night classes ran, one was Line Dancing, over the winter and Pilates during the Spring.
Marian also extended her thanks to the staff of the Vale Star and Observer Papers for their continued help in advertising all our
parish activities. She thanked Fr. Lane for allowing us advertise in the weekly Bulletin and Nora O'Keeffe for not only attending our
events but also for advertising them through her wonderful photography. Finally, Marian thanked all who had helped her out during
the year and said she would not be seeking re-election.
The Treasurers', Mary Lynch & Anne Hickey, gave a very comprehensive report on income & expenditure for the year. As this was
an extra busy year, they had an enormous amount of work, counting, keeping track and recording every transaction. The Chairman
congratulated them on a job very well done. Martin thanked all those who had helped out in any way over the past year and wished
the incoming Officers the best of luck for the coming year. Martin had been chairman for the past five years and felt it was time for
a change so he would not be seeking re-election.
The election of Officers took place following much discussion, debate and cajoling.
Chairman: Mike O'Regan. Secretary: Marian Noonan. ( No one willing to take on job ). Treasurers: Mary Lynch & Anne Hickey
P.R.O: Mary O'Regan. Reps to Ballyhoura Forum: John Bennett & Martin Carroll.
Mick Houlihan & Sean Cagney, were returned unopposed, to their positions as the ' Meeters & Greeters ' for the coming year.

GRANAGH UNITED F.C.
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC: firstly, this week, the club regrets to announce that due to insurance regulations, there will
be NO Halloween Night celebrations in the soccer pitch this year.
There was only one competitive game on the agenda this week. Our U10s were away to Askeaton B, on Sunday evening, 12th.
As usual we were treated to a very entertaining game with all of the team showing great skill and determination. They scored six
goals in total, with two excellent goals from Dean kenny, closely followed by two more great goals from Sean Walsh. We had one
superb goal each from Eimhin O'Regan and Richard Walsh. The final score was 6 - 0, a great team display.
The squad on the day were :- S. Walsh, E.O'Regan, C. Leahy, E. Clifford, R. Walsh, J. Leahy, D. Kenny, G. Lynch, C. Cotter,
J. Dore, D. Lynch, D. Madigan and J. Kenny.
In the Subs game we saw the youngest player on the squad, Jason Kenny, score a cracker of a goal. I'm sure this was the first of
many, considering he has another three years playing with the U10s, well done Jason.!
