WAX-OFF IN THE ROCK:
A great crowd turned up to support Breast Cancer Ireland in the Rock Bar, Saturday night.   Many thanks to Siobhán McCormack for arranging the function, the DJ and lots of spot prizes.   Eileen Power was in charge of the shaving section on the night and had no bother with her four models.   They all had nice beard growth, specially cultivated over the last few weeks and I'm sure they found it somewhat cooler the following morning.!   Thanks to John Anthony Cregan, Willie Power, Joe Toomey and Mike O'Regan.   Jimmy Morrissey went a step further, he always had a grand crop of hair, but for the cause, he allowed Eileen to shave it to the bone.
Natasha, a beautician  from Tipperary was drafted in to take care of the waxing - this is what the crowd were waiting for !    Tony Sheahan was first up on the bed, he couldn't wait to get going!   Now, he didn't have allot of hair to work with but Natasha waxed him anyway.  The DJ spotted someone waving cash at him to allow them pull a strip so Tom O'Gorman was first to have a go.   After that it was open season on the poor victims but more money for the cause.   I think Paddy Tierney's legs attracted the most attention from the ladies and after eight strips, were left completely hairless.!   Liam Houlihan and Mike O'Regan went through their own share of pain with wives and so-called friends all helping to wax them !   Liam Kelly, very bravely, exposed his chest to the gathering and immediately, strips were sold.
Darren O'Hanlon volunteered to have his back waxed and again the ladies queued up.   There was skin and hair flying and poor Darren's back was in the ' pink ' afterwards.     Sincere thanks to the fundraisers and those who sponsored them for their fantastic generosity.
When all cards are returned, we will have a total.
