NRA DEPUTATION:
The Anhid Cross Junction on the N21 Cork/Limerick Road is a major worry for motorists travelling this road on a daily basis.  Major traffic flows have to navigate this National route and many motorists travelling the Granagh West Limerick Route have had many experiences of near misses due to the poor visibility where no lighting has been installed at this dangerous junction.   A motion was submitted by a Councillor Patrick C Fitzgerald at the January meeting of the County Council requesting a meeting with the National Roads Authority for a re-alignment of the junction at Anhid Cross and the request for lights to be installed.  The Anhid Cross area has had many serious accidents over the years.   A deputation took place on Tuesday last the 17th July to the National Roads Authority Head Offices
where local Councillors and  County Council Engineers made a strong case to the management of the NRA to put in place a safety structure to avoid accidents and fatalities at the Anhid Cross Junction.   Hopefully that this meeting will be fruitful.

Go raibh maith agat.
