GRANAGH NOTES - 18 / 19 April


Mary O'Riordan and Peggy O'Dwyer, regulars at Granagh Tea Dances, attended our final dance last Sunday.

TEA DANCE:
Granagh Development ran the final tea dance of the season on Sunday last with music provided by Lee Sound.   Everyone was in great form and danced the evening away.   Our dancers are a wonderful group of people and one couldn't but go home in good form, if somewhat tired, after the day.   As usual we had delicious pastries, Mary Lynch was up early to bake the apple tarts, always in great demand, Anne O'Rourke brought a lemon cake fresh out of the oven, and they are only two of our excellent bakers.    Marian Noonan, Secretary, thanked our loyal supporters for attending every month and making it such an enjoyable day.    They don't come empty handed either, they are more than generous bringing raffle prizes and home baking along with buying raffle tickets as well.    She thanked the committee members who give their time, serve the teas and help tidy up.   She especially welcomed , the group from St. Itas who joined us for the day.   Included in the group were Frances McKnight, Gerry Sheehan, Mary Lynch, Mary White and John Flaherty.   They entertained us as

Walk of Dreams:   Sunday May 13th.   Don't forget to collect sponsorship cards from Kevin ( 086-8431840).   Remember half the money goes back to the Club again.   John Giles, himself, expects to attend the Limerick walk this year. 
 
Con's 60km Cycle.
Only two weeks to go, until Sunday 6th May.    Everyone welcome to join in on the cycle and entry fee is only €20.  
Registration at the Community Centre from 9.00am to 10.30am and if  you cannot cycle you can still donate whatever you wish there.
All funds raised go to the Laura Lynn Hospice for sick children.    Refreshments provided for the returning cyclists.   Children must be accompanied by an adult, don't forget the helmet.    For further information contact Con on 087-7419086.

CO.  COUNCIL:  
As I write the notes, the Rathkeale council workers are fixing the potholes along the Graigacurra road.   Great to see them as the road had developed a few major holes which were very dangerous.   Go raibh maith agaibh. 
 
COMHBHRÓN:
We extend our sympathies to Denis O'Keeffe, Ballingarry, on the death of his brother Tom, of Rosemount, Rathkeale.
