WEDDING  NU PTIALS:
The eagerly  awaited  wedding of Caitriona Noonan and Paul Kennedy took place on Monday 1st August, in St. Joseph’s Church, Granagh, in the company of family and friends.
The family had been gathering all week -  aunts and cousins  flying in from America,  Fergal  jetting in from Australia  and cousin Eoin from New Zealand.
Her uncle Fr. Michael Noonan, officiated and he recalled that thirty years earlier he was on the same alter to welcome her parents, Tom and Marian on their wedding day.     It is hard to believe that so many years have passed and especially  as Tom and Marian are as youthful looking as ever !
Caitriona and her wedding party arrived on time.   Her Chief Bridesmaid was her sister Orla with her cousin Ciara Liston as second bridesmaid ,  both  were looking gorgeous.   The little  Pageboy, who performed his duties so well was Danny O’Grady.
Caitriona,  looked radiant, on the arm of her proud father , walking up the aisle to the strains of ‘Canon in D’ by Pachelbel.                                  Waiting  at the rails, Paul with his Best Man,  Eoin Kennedy and Groomsman,  Donal O’Grady.
Readings were done by her brother  Fergal and Kathryn O’Grady.     Prayers of the Faithful were         Read by Ailín McMahon, Denis Noonan, Michael Byrnes, Aoife Egan, Conor Mulqueen and Karl Hanley.    The gifts were brought to the alter by the mothers,  Marian and Kathleen.
A beautiful communion reflection was read by sister-in-law, Teresa Kennedy.     After the final blessing, Caitriona and Paul signed the register  and then walked hand in hand, down the aisle to Mendelssohn's  Wedding March.      While waiting to greet the Bride and Groom, the ‘Delta String Trio’ concluded with  ‘ All you need is Love‘.
As we emerged from the Church,  not a drop of rain in sight so everyone stood around chatting.   We got a chance to take lots of pictures before the couple headed to the Woodlands for their reception. As usual, the hotel lived up to its reputation for excellent food and service.   All the speeches were over and done with before the meal so less stress for everyone.    I must say well done to  Eoin Kennedy, Best Man , who had everyone in stitches with his speech.      The Band and Disco had people on the floor all night and everyone enjoyed themselves so much that people were reluctant to leave at all.!!    The dawn chorus was about to start by the time some of us saw the bed.
Congratulations and best wishes to Caitriona & Paul for a Long Healthy & Happy life together.
