HERITAGE  WEEK:
This year heritage week runs from August 20th to 28th and 2011 has been declared the United Nations Year of the Forest.
Ted Cooke will host a wildlife  talk at the Arboretum in Broadford village on Sunday 21st at 2.00pm.    You may not know that this site was
once a quarry, then used as a dump and became heavily polluted.   The community came up with a plan to convert it into a native tree
arboretum and now it is one of the few places in the country where all twenty seven native tree species  can be seen on the one site.
