Results:
U10 League:    Abbeyfeale A 3 -  Granagh 2.   Sam O'Sullivan scored both goals.
U12 League:   Granagh 2 - Old Mill 0.    Granagh faced their old rivals again, at home in a fast paced match versus a strong defense and good goalie.   It took them a while to settle down but they did have a few shots at goals.    Shortly before half time, Eimhin made a pass to Ritchie
who in turn passed to Sean J who sent it to the back of the net.   Subs William Enright, Paul McMahon and Cian Cotter were on for the second half.   Old Mill did not give up, kept the pressure on and were very nearly rewarded but for a great save by James McDermott.     With about ten minutes to go William gave a pass to Sean J who put it away again.   With only a few minutes left Sean J got another shot but was denied his hat trick.   Well done to all on a sporting match.
Walk of Dreams:    Thanks to the club members who made the effort to attend the walk on Sunday last.   It was a beautiful day in Limerick to be out and about.   The crowds were gathering since 2pm and just before the off, Mayor Maria Byrne and special guest Willie Big Bang Casey spoke for a few minutes.   As soon as Willie was spotted arriving he was surrounded  by the children for autographs, which he duly signed.
On the dot of 3pm, Willie sounded the hooter and both he and the Mayor led off the walk.   Each child received a cert for taking part.
Those who attended -  Seamus Murphy and family, Ellen, Paudie and Sean.   Joe Condon and family, Sarah and Rory.    Kevin Clifford and family, Carmel, Eoghan, Darragh and Conor.    Mary and Eimhin O'Regan.   Ciara and Sean English.   Not forgetting the Ballinleena contingent Anne Fitzgibbon and Joe Scanlon.

COMMUNITY  GAMES:
Draughts:   On Saturday morning last fourteen very enthusiastic , committed and intelligent children representing Ballingarry/Granagh left      the surrounding area overlooked by the famous hill of Knockfierna and travelled to UL to compete in the Munster Finals of the 2011 draughts competition.
U/12 Team:  This panel of Gearoid Lynch, Conor Lynch , Eoin Sheahan ,Orla Lenihan, Sean O Connor, Sean English and Luke Flynn faced Fieries,  the Kerry champions , in their semi final.    Unfortunately it was not to be theirs on the day,  and after a brave effort had to give way to a more skilful side.   These players can hold their heads high on the way they performed,  as since last September they were always on excellent behaviour and were eager to learn at training.U/10 Team:  This group of Sophie Alymer, Mark Sheahan, Michael Sheahan, Eve Higgins, Ciara O Connor, Molly Cagney and Orla Lynch accounted for Kerry in their semi final and progressed to the final where they faced Tulla from Clare.   This team gave a tremendous performance in the final and were narrowly beaten.   This team were every managers dream, always at training , well behaved and willing to learn (and teach).   They did themselves and their parents proud by bringing home silver medals from UL.
Great credit must go to Breda Lynch and Mike Sheahan who trained and coached these teams since last September.   Also to Anne Higgins our Secretary who had everything ready (again) for the trip to UL.   Many thanks to all the parents who supported us and brought children to matches and to training during the year.   And so the curtain closes for us for 2011 with two county titles and a provincial silver.                        Not a bad outcome and well done to all involved.
Art Results;   The results of the county Art Competition have been announced and Ballingarry/Granagh are among the winners.                        In Boys u/10 Mark Sheahan took GOLD while in Boys u/8 Michael Sheahan took fourth place.   In the Boys u/12 competition Ashtosh Yadav won Gold while Eoin Sheahan came third.   Mark and Ashtosh will now be travelling to Athlone to compete in the National Finals representing our area and the county.   There will be a presentation night in Rathkeale on April 12th at 7pm.Cross Country Running:  This competition will be held on Sunday April 10th in Mick Neville Park at 2pm.  Training continues this Friday evening.
GUITAR  CONCERT:      The end of term concert by the students in Susie's Guitar Classes will be held in the Hall on Wednesday 6th April, 7.00pm.   As always it is a most entertaining  evening and all are welcome.
