GRANAGH PLAYERS:
One More Night:
Another great weekend of activity, entertainment and traffic jams at the Community Centre for our play ' The Shaughraun '. Our dedicated committee were on duty from six o'clock each night, to have heating on, chairs in position, props in place, raffle and teas arranged. All our volunteers work hard behind the scenes so that an event like this runs as smoothly as it does.
Without all this co-operation, we would not be able for the stress levels and it would be impossible to run it over six nights.
And so we all enjoyed every performance and the cast gave one hundred per cent each night. Of course it makes it so much easier when you have fantastic
audiences, which we had. They paid great attention, got all the punch lines and gave the cast great support. Also, must mention the children who were as good
and did their very best not to upset the cast.
We did have about six or seven of the crew, complaining of coughs, sore throats and touches of flu. However, Jimmy Chawke - whose only medical experience is being married to a nurse - took on the job of medicating the cast !!! They all survived though, heard no complaints afterwards....
We did have a bit of trouble with an uncontrollable moustache, but fair play to the Captain, he kept going and never missed a line, luckily he didn't have to resort to the
super glue...
For those away from home, they can log into the Granagh web site -ballingarrynews.blogspot.com
We were to finish up at the weekend, but had requests from the Camogie and GAA clubs to run one more night as a fundraiser. Even though it was inconvenient to
some members of the cast, they changed and rearranged plans to facilitate another night. To make it an all sporting night, the Soccer club were invited to
partake as well , so whichever club you support and your children are involved in, bring on as many people as possible.
A great nights' entertainment is assured for your ten euro and it is the most painless fundraising you will ever have to do.......

MACRA CAPERS:
Congratulations to the Limerick Rainbows team who were the winners in the All-Ireland Final in Cappaquin, at the weekend. This was their third
and last year in the competition so it was a great finish. We were delighted to have had them in Granagh for a rehearsal, they were a lovely group and
well deserved their success.
YOUTH CHOIR:
Congratulations also to the U13 Community Games Choir, who came first in the county finals at the weekend. They are on a great roll this year and
best of luck in the next round.
Hopefully they will be able to perform next Sunday night 6th, in Granagh, during the play interval.
