YOUTH CHOIR:
As the end of the year approaches the youth choir leaders would like to thank the children and their parents for their dedication and
commitment over the last few months.
The children have been working hard with the ' Do this in Memory ' programme and preparing for Christmas. For charity, this year, they
will be doing a Carol Service in Abbott close, Askeaton Nursing Home, on request.
In the New Year they will be entering competitions. To this end we have new uniforms provided by the parents. A new set of steps,
sponsored by Mike O'Meara of ' The Wine Buff ' and build by Eamon McMahon and Mike O'Regan.
We have had great support from the Parish Finance Committee, without whose help we would be unable to pay for printing or the rent of
the Hall. We thank you all most sincerely for your help and wish everybody the very best for Christmas and the New Year.
GRANAGH Utd F.C:
Due to the poor weather conditions all school boys & junior games were cancelled last weekend.
However, our Junior team were in action against St Itas B in one of a few games to escape the weather thanks to a very dry surface in Granagh.
It did not take Granagh long to get a hold of this game with Cian O Regan netting after twenty minutes and no more than he deserved I might add ,
as he worked very hard up front.
Patrick O Donoghue made it two shortly after and Harry Dore left the half time score 3-0 with a very well taken header from a Mark Carroll cross
into the box. Patrick O Donoghue was on hand again early in the second half to make it four with a superb
header from Pat Carroll's cross, and if that was not enough from Carlos he then helped himself to a fine left foot strike to make it five.
Kevin Fitzgibbon wrapped up the victory with a long range shot to make a final score line read 6-0 to Granagh.
This was a truly fine display from both team and management so keep up the good work lads it seems to be paying off.

APRÉS TEA DANCE:
After my comments on the last Tea Dance, I heard, through the grapevine, that I had upset our friend Pat from Monagea !!!
I must state that it was totally unintentional. I happened to mention two couples from Limerick who were very good dancers, because it was their
first visit to Granagh. However, I neglected to mention all the other excellent dancers we have each month and of course, Pat is amongst those.
He just glides across the floor with the greatest of ease and I could sit and watch him all evening. I hope he will not be too upset with me and
will make an appearance at our next dance on Sunday 20th Dec .
TLC 4 CF:
The above is a support organisation for people with cystic fibrosis. The group are aiming to raise € 4 million to provide purpose-built facilities for
adults and young adults with CF at the Regional Hospital. They propose to build five treatment rooms for outpatient care and nine high-spec
in-patient rooms, on the hospital site. One of their fundraising ideas was a Cook Book with easy to follow recipe book and tantalising photos.
This was excellently written by Adare-based chef, Breeda O'Shaughnessy, to support the work of TLC .
Look out for ' Food for Thought ' in shops around the county, priced very reasonably at E10 - an ideal Christmas gift.
