Local notes 1st and 2nd April

DEFIBRILLATORS:

Please note that there are now four defibrillators in place, two in each parish.
In Granagh, one is set up at O'Gormans and the second one at The Rock Bar as both
places have CC TV.
A dedicated mobile phone has been purchased for the purpose of emergency calls.
The number of this phone 086-0301203.
Please note that your own G.P. ( within hours and Shannon Doc out of hours ) should be
the first point of contact. For information purposes the phone number will be available in
the local churches and local shops, over the coming weeks.
On behalf of the committee we would like to express our gratitude to the people of both
parishes for their wonderful support.

YOUTH CLUB:

Next club night is Friday 3rd April, 8.00 pm to 9.30pm. The Moloney family, have kindly agreed to share
their vast knowledge and their wide variety of equipment with our members.
For the first night we will have a motorbike display.
It is a fabulous opportunity to examine the vehicles up close and to have questions answered.
We have a number of limited places for non-members who are really interested in learning more about cars,
but please contact me on 087-9139902 (evenings) for further details.

PILATES CLASSES:

Our latest session of classes has just ended. Thanks to Anne Hickey for arranging these and to our instructor
Maria Fitzgerald. Many thanks to all the ladies who attended and we hope you enjoyed them.

Granagh Utd F.C

Lotto results:
There was no winner of the €3,500 in the lotto draw this week.
Numbers drawn were 7.18.25.26
Lucky dip winners of €20 each were Kim & Max Ivory Granagh, Stephen Moloney Croom, Seamus Murphy Granagh.
Next weeks jackpot is €3.600.

U10:
On Saturday morning the 28th our U10 team were at home to Askeaton B in the league. This game produced
five goals in total, and it was the hosts that registered all five with two strikes from Richard Walsh and one from
Conor O` Donoghue, one from Sean Walsh and one from Sam O` Sullivan to give Granagh a well deserved victory.

U16:
Also Saturday afternoon our U16 team were at home to Breska Rovers in the league.
Granagh went close to scoring a few times in the first half, but it took a long Stephen O` Brien kick out five minutes
into the second half that Seamus Collins got on the end of to beat the Breska keeper to give Granagh a 1-0 lead
that they held on to and so take another three points to keep the pressure on Carrig Celtic.

Junior:
Sunday morning saw our junior team make the short journey back to Ballingarry to set up a local derby in the first
round of the league cup. Having drawn in Granagh earlier in the season it was expected to be a close game and
this is exactly what we got. With ninety minutes of football played and no goals, both teams entered in to extra time,
and it took five minutes in to the second half before the deadlock was broke through a “skilfully” taken goal from
super sub Pa Fitzgibbon to give Granagh a well deserved win and progress to the next round of the cup.
