U10:
On Thursday evening the 16th our U10 team were away to Ballingarry in the league. Two great goals from Dean Kenny and 1 each from Sam O` Sullivan & Gearoid Lynch gave maximum points to the lads on the night. Final score 4-0 to Granagh.

Saturday morning the 18th the 10s were in action again, this time they hosted Shannonside in the league. A hat trick from Richard Walsh followed by one a piece for Gearoid O` Dwyer, Gearoid Lynch and Dean Kenny saw our boys finish comfortable winners with a final score of 6-2 in favour of Granagh.

U14:
Our U14 team were also in action Saturday morning in the quarter final replay of the cup against Breska Rovers. This was always going to be a tough game, and it got tougher when Breska took the lead twenty minutes in to the game from the penalty spot. Our lads never gave up and just on the stroke of half time David Condon had us back on level terms. The second half was an evenly matched game with chances at either end of the pitch, but with ten minutes left Breska won a corner that we failed to defend and paid the price when they netted in what proved to be the winner.
Final score Breska Rovers 2 Granagh Utd 1. We wish Breska the best of luck in the remainder of the contest.

Junior:
Friday evening the 7th our junior team hosted Rockhill Rovers in the league in a game they had to win to keep the fight alive for promotion. An early strike from Stephen O` Brien and a goal from the penalty spot for Mark Tierney in injury time was enough to seal the victory for Granagh. Final score 2-0 to Granagh.

NATURE WALK:
Geoff Hunt of Birdwatch Ireland leads a Nature Hike next Sunday 26th April.
This will consist of walking from Ballingarry to the top of Knockfierna and back, a distance of 9-kilometers.

The walk features in Geoff’s book Nature Walks of County Limerick, which outlines in detail the natural history of the area .

GUITAR LESSONS:

YOUTH CLUB:
We had a small group on Friday last, but we went ahead with the quiz anyway. The boys were outright winners. Well done to Kaelen and Stephen.

DEVELOPMENT ASSOC:
Our final tea dance was held last Sunday, music was supplied by John Shanahan. The band were a little late starting, thanks to everyone for their patience. It was a very enjoyable evening and we will miss our monthly meeting until it resumes in the Autumn. Sincere thanks to all the following who helped make the Dances such a success:- Our regulars, both from the parish and outside, who supported us every Sunday, without fail. Our team of eleven people who give up their time each Sunday to serve Teas, sell tickets, wash ware, balance the books and tidy up afterwards. All the people who are so generous in bringing spot prizes e.g. last Sunday we had at least fifteen prizes in the raffle. All the ladies who supply us with home baking and donate cakes are always being highly complimented. The Tea is the high point of the evening and is eagerly awaited by all. Thanks also to Nora O'Keeffe, who is always taking photos and getting them into the Observer. We wish her a speedy recovery after her recent operation. Finally thanks to our marvelous Secretary, Marian Noonan, who has a long list of jobs before each dance, booking bands, getting tickets and floats sorted, getting the Hall ready , making quantities of sandwiches and buns as well as looking after the recycling. She will have a bit more time for the golf after this.
Next Meeting:- Wednesday 29th April, 8pm.
