AGMBALLINGARRY Parent, Baby, Toddler group will hold their AGM on Wednesday, January 21 in the Supper Room at 8pm, old and new members are very welcome.

RATHFREDAGH CHARITY WALK
The annual walk in aid of Rathfredagh Cheshire Home will take place on Sunday, January 25. The walk starts at 10am from the Devon Inn for sponsor cards or any information you may ring 069-83100.
As this is one of their big fundraiser your support will be very much appreciated.

SENIOR CITIZENS
The annual Christmas Dinner and Party for our senior citizens, widows, widowers, retired people and people living alone will be held this Sunday, January 25.
A free bus will leave from outside the Hall at 12.30pm sharp for those with no transport or would like to take a drink, please let us know if you are going in the bus, ring 069-68142 or 086-8626522, venue Woodlands House Hotel, Adare. All must be seated at the Woodlands by 1.15pm., dinner served at 1.30pm. Music for the evening will be supplied by Pat Harvey. There will be a few novelty acts, such as the brush dance, waltzing competition, we have a very special guest who will judge the waltzing and as usual we give a gift to all invited guests, so if you receive any gifts for Christmas and do not need them, I would be glad to receive them, you can hand them to me Nora at any time. I must thank most sincerely all those who have brought some beautiful gifts so far. If you can at all you might give me a ring and let me know if you are going or not as we will have to have some idea of numbers, so you can contact me at 069 68142 or 086 8626522. CARDS
The 45 Card Drive Results: 1st €150 Eileen Geary and Paddy Roche; 2nd €120 was shared by five pairs Vinny Wren and John Mulvihill; John Upton and Kitty Dillane; John and Nancy Danaher; Pat McKenna and J. Flynn; Kathleen and Paddy McMahon. The following three pairs won €26 each, table prizes: Betty Fitzgerald and Peg Hannon; John and Nancy Danaher; John Wall and Jim Langan. Raffle: €50 Mai Wall; €30 John Mulvihill; €20 Vinny Wrenn; €20 Mary Barrett.
Sympathy was extended to Martha Neville and family, John O’Shea and family on the death of their sister Eileen Dowling, also to the Dowling family she was 1st cousin to Maureen O’Shea and Ann Hartnett, prayers were then recited for the repose of her soul. May she rest in peace.

BORD NA NOG
The Bord na nOg Club held a further meeting last Monday 12, to elect a secretary, elect an assistant secretary, A.O.B. Present: Noel Lynch, Pat Herlihy, Liam Carroll, Phil Lane, John Lynch, Paul McCarthy and Rena O’Brien. Pat Herlihy was proposed as secretary and accepted. Phil Lane (our senior club chairman) congratulated pat and welcomed him to our Club. Phil wished him every success in his new position. Pat has been living in our parish for a number of years, and coming from Monagea with a strong family tradition in GAA the future of our Bord na nOg is in great hands.
Phil Lane then thanked out-going secretary Rena O’Brien for all her hard work during her time as secretary.
Paul McCarthy was then elected as assistant secretary. Phil Lane spoke at length of all the excellent work Paul has done during his term as chairman of Bord na nOg. He also said Paul has made an enormous contribution to the development of the underage structure in the past five years and thanked him for his contribution.
Due to decreased numbers it was decided to enter the 13-a-side competition in U16 hurling and football. The under 14s have been entered in the 15-a-side competition in both hurling and football.
Reminder: The registration fee for 2009 is €5 per child and €10 per family in Bord na nOg. This must be paid to your manager when training resumes.
