TEA DANCING:
We had a marvelous evening on Sunday last to finish off our very successful season of tea dances. We had up to seventy
people which included a reunion group of dancers that went on a cruise to Salou earlier in the year. Everyone was in great form and
really enjoyed the music of Danny Webster ( all the way from Kilkenny.) Marian thanked all our regular dancers who support us
consistently each month. She also thanked our own ladies and gents who give up their time each Sunday to help out with the teas,
the raffle and the clean-up. Special thanks to the ladies who provide the delicious home baking which is the high point of the
evening and which everyone looks forward to. Marian also thanked everyone who brought spot prizes for the raffle,
people were so generous and it is very much appreciated. Hope to see everyone back in October.

GRANAGH PLAYERS:
The cast, crew and many many helpers got together last Friday night for an evening of celebration to toast the success of ' The Field'.
The salad buffet was prepared and served by Susie and Sophie Butler who laid on a wonderful spread, compliments all round.
Running a play over six nights is no mean undertaking and would not be possible without a huge amount of co-operation. As The Bird says,
' if there was more co-operation, the world would be an easier place'. The only way our rural communities will survive is by working
together and supporting each other. The drama group couldn't get by without the help of the Development association and indeed the latter
could not get by without the support of the parish.
Marylee Stapleton was MC for the night and introduced each of the cast, who were presented with a piece of Ardagh glass by the chairman,
Michael O'Regan. He thanked everyone who was associated with the play - thirteen cast members, producer Mary Liston, backstage crew,
front of house, ladies in the kitchen, ticket sellers, shop assistants, car parking team, ladies who supplied home baking, all those who
donated raffle prizes, our sponsors and finally Fiachra Liston and Nora O' Keeffe. He also thanked his fellow officers and committee members for
their support and dedication throughout the year. Much has been achieved this year and more to do next year.
