TEA DANCING:
MONAGEA:
The next dancing date for your diary is Sunday 14th March in Monagea Community Centre. Music will be supplied by The Premier Blue
Boys. As usual, tea and refreshments will be served.
On Sunday 21st, we will have our own monthly dance in Granagh to the music of Liam O'Sullivan.
GRANAGH PLAYERS:
On Saturday last we gathered in the Community Centre to present the cheques to our chosen charities. Denise Kelly was home from Dublin to
accept the cheque on behalf of the CRUDEM Foundation, for Hospital Sacre Coeur in Haiti. As the hospital went from 64 beds on Jan 12th to over
400 in the space of two weeks, the expenses for food, medicine fuel and so on have greatly increased. Our donation will go directly to help with
these costs and she thanked all who were involved in the drama production.
Mary Hanley accepted our cheque on behalf of the Alzheimers' Day Care Unit, Adare. She sincerely thanked all for the donation as HSE funding
has been greatly reduced and every euro is vital to help them continue with their services.
Many thanks to photographer Nora O'Keeffe for taking the time to call, on what was a very busy Saturday evening for her.
DEBS DRESSES:
As part of their fundraising efforts, the ladies at the Alzheimers' Unit, Old Library, Adare are holding a very special Sale. They received a number
of brand new debs dresses from a bridal shop, normal selling price E 170 - E 250. However, these will be greatly reduced on Saturday 27th Mar.
Call and have a look, great bargains.
URBAN KNIT:
Eilish Tuite, is a third year sculpture student in Limerick school of Art and Design is working on a project called Urban Knit. She hopes to be
covering ether fully or partially an empty rental building in Limerick city in a large knitted blanket.!! This project is more than just knitting.
It involves participants in social engaging Art and places community involvement in pride of place.
If you would like to participate in the project by knitting and donating an A4 size patch, she would be very grateful for your contribution.
This installation is made out many patches so she needs quite lot of them and she is also in need of wool so if you have any leftover
scraps, these would also be greatly appreciated.

Pub Quiz. At the last monthly meeting, the discussion turned to grass growth ! Up to now , it was left to a few people to bring
their own mowers weekly to keep the pitches cut. However, when grass growth resumes the pitch will need to be cut twice a week at least
and the domestic mowers will not be strong enough. It was decided to check out prices and availability of commercial mowers and to
start fundraising to meet some of the costs. So a pub quiz will be held in The Rock Bar on Friday 26th March, € 40 per table of four.
If parents cannot attend on the night, they can sponsor a table or a spot prize. All donations greatfully received.
