CHRISTMAS SHOE BOXES.

Christmas has a different meaning for each of us, but it is usually a time of giving. Our children associate it with presents but for some
it is just another day, struggling to stay alive and nothing to look forward to. These small shoe boxes must bring such joy to children in
very poor circumstances. You can drop the boxes to Ballingarry ICA members , Nora O'Keeffe, Anne Baggott and Maureen Kennedy by 10th Nov.

TEA DANCING:

Don't forget, our next dance will be held on Sunday 15th Nov, music by ' The Marina '.

HALLOWEEN PARTY:

Thanks to the Parents Association who organised a party for the children in The Rock Bar on Saturday night. There was a big crowd and the
children really enjoyed it. They went to great trouble dressing up and it was difficult to pick out prizewinners. Eventually the winners were
Eimhin O'Regan dressed as 'Shirley' - low cut sequined dress and thigh high boots.!!! Rebecca Twomey - the witch and Eoin Enright - the
mummy.

GRANAGH PLAYERS:

The ladies and gents have reconvened and have been rehearsing now for a few weeks, with producer Mary Liston wielding the ash plant !
On the menu for this years' production is J.B.Keanes' - The Field, probably his best know work , first performed in 1965 was later made into a
film by Jim Sheridan in 1990.
Keane's plays, be they tragedy, comedy or drama always blend in a bit of humour and everyone can relate to his writings through the
different characters he creates.
The Field is a fierce and tender study of the love a man can have for land and the ruthless lengths he will go to in order to obtain
the object of his desire. It is dominated by the Bull McCabe, one of the most famous characters in Irish writing today.
We have a big cast this year, thirteen in all, which gives us an opportunity to introduce new members to the stage.
